Peksy is a browser extension that helps developers extract DOM element context for AI coding assistants. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

Data We Collect

Peksy collects minimal data necessary for its core functionality:

• Website Content: When you select an element, Peksy reads the HTML structure, CSS styles, and text content of that element. This data is only processed locally and copied to your clipboard.
• User Preferences: Your settings (keyboard shortcuts, output preferences) are stored locally using Chrome's storage API and synced across your devices if you're signed into Chrome.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Personal identification information (name, email, etc.)
• Browsing history or web activity
• Passwords or authentication credentials
• Financial information
• Location data

Data Storage & Transmission

• All data processing happens locally in your browser
• No data is transmitted to external servers
• Element context is only copied to your clipboard when you explicitly trigger the copy action
• Settings are stored using Chrome's built-in storage API

Third-Party Services

Peksy does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The extension operates entirely offline and does not make any network requests.

Permissions Explained

• activeTab: Allows Peksy to access the current webpage only when you activate the extension, without requiring broad access to all websites.
• clipboardWrite: Enables copying the extracted element context to your clipboard.
• storage: Saves your preferences locally and syncs them across devices.
• Host permissions: Required to inject the content script that enables element selection on any webpage you visit.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, there's no personal information to access, modify, or delete. You can uninstall the extension at any time, which will remove all locally stored preferences.
